Weddings: Weddings are special times that everyone works hard to make as perfect as possible. Seancara can help make that happen. Our music is particularly suited to those of Scottish and Irish descent but works well for anyone who has a love for celtic music. The one thing we can't do is provide a dance at the end of the evening. We leave that for the top 40 bands and the disc jockeys. However, other than that we can pretty much fill any musical need. If appropriate, Barb and Jay are fully capable of providing beautiful music for the wedding service, including solos during the signing of the registry. Think of it as an alternative to a string quartet. Barb has been providing violin music for wedding services for over ten years now. But where Seancara really shines as a band is during the "cocktail" reception. That hour while guests are arriving and the wedding party is out getting pictures taken is perfect for the type of entertainment we can provide. Becuase we have a large repertoire of both high energy fiddle music and beautiful guitar and violin tunes, sprinkled with Barb's beautiful vocals, we can adapt to whatever mood is appropriate. And then what do you do during that awkward forty five minutes while the guests are getting served the meal? What we have found works well is that after an hour of cocktail entertainment, and then a twenty minute pause while the wedding party enters and the MC introduces the night, some light celtic fiddle music helps to entertain those waiting to be served or have their table called to go up to get their meal. In the past we have even worked the table announcements into the show to relieve the MC of the duty of supplying forty five minutes of bad jokes. If your wedding doesn't include a dance, but is more centred around a reception and party, Seancara can even finish the night with high energy fiddle and guitar tunes.

Special Occasions: Whatever the occasion, whether it's a birthday. anniversary, or just a general celebration, Seancara can provide the music. We can move from beautiful aires and ballads to driving fiddle tunes to provide whatever mood is called for, whether its a one hour reception or a three hour party.
